It is possible to look fit in today’s time. Not only do we have advanced editing software to enhance pictures and videos but also an easy access to performance enhancing supplements/drugs to make any one "look fit".

We all know how social media influence our lives. These days lifestyle/beauty/fitness standards are set by social media influencers.

“Unfortunately to stand out in this cut throat competition of likes, dislikes and number of followers many influencers project unrealistic ideas and standards of fitness, which are focused on looking fit rather than actually being fit.”

They use tools and techniques like Photoshop, camera angles, additional lighting, makeup and digital filters to hide imperfections and enhance over all look of the image or video clip.

In short looking fit is easy in today’s time.

Being fit

Being fit is a ability of a person to do every day tasks efficiently. Good body composition is a result of correct nutrition and good lifestyle habits. Being fit is a state of an individual which is not driven by pseudo social media standards.

With the help of performance enhancing drugs you can be performing at the peak of your potential without being healthy. Imagine a person loaded up with caffeine or steroids performing more than a person at the peak of there natural potential. But they cannot sustain performance achieved like this for a long time. Moreover, side effects of over dosing such supplement and drugs catches up with time. Consequently, they end up looking fit for a short period of time.

Instead, when health is achieved through correct nutrition and training your ability to sustain task specific fitness for life time increases. And if you make suitable lifestyle modifications then you will not only look fit but you will also be fit throughout your life which cannot be faked.

“Looking fit without sustainable performance is temporary and compromises health in long run. With time it becomes more and more difficult to fake looking fit while compromising mental and physical well-being.

Being fit is actually rewarding in long term and enhances quality of life.
